Research Assistant in sub-project C: “Within and Beyond Law? Feminist Perspectives on Urban and Housing Commons”
Center for Interdisciplinary Women and Gender Studies (ZIFG) at Technical University Berlin
I come to the research group with experience in the field of Urban Studies, past research on urban social movements and strong ties to Feminist Geography. In sub-project C we study collectives who organize around re-claiming and maintaining commons-like urban infrastructures. In my case study I analyse collective responses to sexual and partner violence in such activist collectives. I depart from past and present strands of (feminist) political organising where conflict resolution and community safety practices strive towards autonomous accountability beyond carceral institutions. These practices are conceptualized as reproductive activities and a form of taking care within collectives.
