In my research, I am interested in what difference it makes when people assert their interests in a legal mode. The notion of having a right to something holds great promise, especially for people who have not been treated as equal citizens for a long time. In my case study, I look at anti-discrimination and participation law and how advocacy groups of people with disabilities in particular use it to create more participation and less exclusion for themselves.
